Listen now | Emma talks to Isobel Wolff, National Director at The Flying Seagulls, who for 15 years have been spreading laughter, play and silliness as far and wide as their net will cast. Isobel is an actor-musician and trained singer and works in both fields. She also works as a pro-bono musician and clown for the Children's Theatre charity and the The Flying Seagull Project, travelling and performing in the UK and internationally. As part of the Flying Seagulls Izzy has taken play into difficult environments and to vulnerable communities. She shares why play isn’t just for when we’re feeling in a good mood but is vital to protect and bring into the darkest of times.
Not keen on clowns 🤡 (I reckon it’s the hiding behind a sometimes tad creepy big fat smiley face) hence hesitated to listen at first. But absolutely LOVED it. So so inspirational. Thanks!
On another note: I need Ben to explain how to link my Substack poddies to Spotify again. Spent hours googling and just didn’t get it to work 🤦🏼♀️Perhaps I felt similar to you trying to connect to your printer 🖨️. Spotify is just great for listening when offline (unless you can do this on Substack too 🤷♀️?)
Love the flying seagulls, such amazing work they do. For some reason the interview sound cuts out when there is about 19mins left, I'd love to hear the rest
