Saturday
Rainy day! It poured all day today which we embraced as our cue for a slower day. We went for a rainy walk to get some brekkie at Russ&Daughters. This place is cute but mostly known for it’s fancy fish dishes, but they did indy a bagel and scrambled eggs no problem!
We stumbled into a little street art passage and took some cool pics and found some new artists before doing some shopping on canal street. I love the Moma store, it always feels like being a hybrid between store and museum, so much interesting design to look at.
Then we found a gorgeous book store and got some drinks and holed up for some cosy reading time before heading back to the hotel for a power session in the gym
In the evening we had a reservation at SushiDelic which is a kawaii themed sushi bar. This was a real treat, the kind of thing we love! Indy didn’t find too much on the menu she liked unfortunately, but the poke nachos were ace and went down a treat. I however was stuffed. Lol.
Sunday
Sunshine was back and what a stunning day it was so we wasted no time at all getting amongst it! We walked up to Camp toy store which opens early and is a concept toy store, you can go into ticketed experiences behind a secret door but we didn’t do that on this occasion as our budget went elsewhere. The we carried on up to the flat iron building and spent some time here as the vibe was great, the light was incredible and it was early and quiet so we had fun doing a full photo shoot and putting the timer on.
We carried on with our walk to the highline and found the vessel and popped into Hudson Yards for some fuel! We walked about 15k on this day!
We walked the highline from hudson yards up to little island which is where we got off and literally collapsed on this little island. We lay down listening to everyone play the chimes and caught some rays. This place was so cute, the architecture was amazing, I really enjoyed it here and found the use of space and design really inspiring.
Our feet were killing so we caught a yellow taxi (had to be done) back to our hotel and headed out to meet a friend for lunch at a pink Italian restaurant called Pietron Olita. It was nice to sit in the sun and chat about our adventures!
We went back to the hotel via Supreme for gifting for the big boys at home and into the big Glossier store which Indy loved. Lipglosses were purchased. Obvs.
The sun was setting so we got a pizza and watched The summer I turned pretty which I’d downloaded before we left and we’d been watching together.
Monday
Time for us to fly home - we took an early flight which got us back early evening just in time to hop into bed for school the next day!
This was truly a perfect trip, I will cherish it always.
These pics are adorable!
