Transformers x Strangers Things
I love this collab! The vehicles are so fun. We have a lot of both IPs in the house and these are ones we might just add to our collection for the little dude’s impending birthday! (currently on pre order only)
Outdoor Kitchen Ideas
I’m getting quotes at the moment to have a very basic kitchen area built into the garden. Nothing fancy, no sink or anything but a space to make pizzas and make drinks etc and have a wall of herbs above it. I have loved exploring this and making moodboards. This has been my favourite image so far because it pushed my thinking - I’d not considered tiles, but now can’t stop thinking about the vibe this could create by adding them! I want to spend as much time outside as I can so I’m hoping to get this project done this year and also investing in a new fire pit as ours is too small and I basically want to feel like a witch with a massive cauldron! I also LOVE the Gozney pizza oven (aspirational middle class garden goals, lol). It’s just so curved…and you’ll know I love a curve
Chubby everything
On the topic or curved I am loving chubby bowls, plates and the like. I love the range H&M have at the moment which are definitely more affordable than the designer ones I was previously drawling over.
Bobbin Frames
More curves incoming. I think this style has always been cute and it seems to be making it way around mainstream retailers. I have all these visions of making a big travel wall which is peppered with a few of these frames. This dream continues to live rent free in my head, but maybe 2024 is the year it comes to fruition. My faves currently are from Maison Flaneur as the colours are great and I specifically want the blobs to be big!
Pressure Cooker Podcast
I’ve made some crazy big changes to my relationship with food, cooking and meal prep over the last few months (more to come on that) and this podcast has been an interesting find. It’s been really good to listen to a few of the issues I have experienced in this area and I’ve also learned some good tips and bits of knowledge along the way. (smug and preachy free FYI!)
Maneaters
It was only the last year or so that I read my first comic. I’m not really into superhero genre but the category has expanded massively and women writers and readers are on the up. Ben bought me a copy of this for Christmas and I’ve already bought volume 2 and 3 as can’t stop reading! I don’t really like the ‘floppy’ issue comics so prefer to read the collection from a book. This story is about adolescent girls who turn into killer big cats when they get their period. The humour is so sharp and the details are really immersive, love love love. I will certainly pass this onto Indy when she’s a bit older (I’d say its 13+ - she’s not great with scary and darker themes otherwise if she was I would suggest younger would like it too).
Always on the look out for swimwear, this Canadian brand is doing a lot of things I love! The prints are great and the designs look great - I love a long sleeved zip up costume for winter sea swims!
Stella McCartney Adidas Hiking trainer
I always look at the Stella Adidas range, I love these two brands together and have snagged some amazing bargains and well loved pieces over the years. I adore these boots! Looking for something not so heavy as walking book but more robust than a trainer and these look pretty great!
Cute exhibition at Somerset House
Not been yet but is something I will certainly try and catch whilst it’s on. I am fascinated by the cultural stories and evolution of all things cute and really looking to geeking out at this one! One of my travel goals is to go to Sanrio World in Japan - it looks absolutely bonkers!
That’s a wrap for Jan’s edit! :)
